ACMI needed to establish an online presence to help engage the general public in exhibitions and activities celebrating the moving image
History
Located at Federation Square in Melbourne, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) celebrates, champions and explores the moving image in all its forms - film, television, games, new media and art. Since opening in 2002, ACMI has become globally recognised as a unique cultural institution that, like the subject matter it celebrates, is dynamic and constantly evolving.
Challenge
ACMI needed an online presence that would reflect the convergence of art and technology that is the `moving image' and reinforce its identity as a Victorian cultural institution. The site needed to entice interaction and engagement with the diversity of ACMI's exhibitions and programs, while still being accessible to all users.
Solution
Areeba worked with ACMI to develop a design and structure that would enable users to explore the events, exhibitions and activities of ACMI; a site that was graphically strong, yet quick and simple to navigate. In utilising the RedDot CMS and drawing on in-house knowledge and development standards, Areeba was able to execute this in an accessible and sustainable way.
