Foster's Group 2001 Website
Foster's Group is a premium global multi-beverage company delivering a portfolio of beer, wine, spirits, cider and non-alcohol beverages enjoyed by millions of consumers around the world. Foster's conducts business across 150 companies and owns brands such as Foster's Lager, Wolf Blass, Beringer, Penfolds, Yellowglen, Lindemans, Rosemount, VB, Carlton, Cascade and Crown.
Areeba was awarded the task of restructuring, redesigning, and rebuilding the entire Foster's Australian website, implementing a new corporate identity and vast amounts of new content.
The website was timed to coincide with the launch of the new Foster's Group logo, aimed at further separating the parent company from the Foster's Lager brand. This new logo and corporate identity was still in final development when the project began and Areeba had the task of developing the online style guide for the group. Advanced media was to be utilised in various areas of the website to increase interactivity and create interesting ways of housing content.
The objectives of the project were to:
- Provide a structure that could be expanded upon in the future;
- Provide information about all key areas of the business;
- Provide a fast, effective, professional mechanism to communicate to shareholders, the media, students and the general web audience;
- And do it in two months.
Areeba devised a set of Content Channels that would house information from the various aspects of the Foster's Group: Corporate, Beer, Wine, Spirits, Hospitality, and Property. The Content Channels became destinations in their own right, a centre for information on the relevant topics. We implemented dynamic HTML menus, allowing the user to access information quickly and easily.
Interactive components such as the Historic Timeline and the Brewery Tour were designed to deliver a more engaging multimedia experience to the user.
The resultant launch of the new website increased site traffic by over 400% and decreased call centre load dramatically. Key users such as investors and media were identified and specifically catered for in areas such as the Media Centre and the Investor Centre.
