Maurice Blackburn is one of the country's most influential law firms, boasting the largest industrial law practice in Australia. Founded in 1921, the firm has three key locations in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane which have taken part in a myriad of landmark cases in the Australian legal environment.

Mid-2004 saw key branding refreshed for the business, including new logos and print material outlining their services and expertise. Areeba, with its experience in information design for the web were approached to translate this online so that it reflected the new marketing direction.

Information Architecture played a large part in establishing the new web presence, as the existing site had outgrown the navigation with additional areas of practice and expertise being added. The new website places the user experience foremost and provides numerous ways in which to access key information on the website including breadcrumbs, search and an a-to-z page index. The underlying mechanics of the website utilises best practice in web development to deliver an informative and easy-to-use website.

The resulting ASP.NET development reflects the new branding clearly and employs the use of a Content Management System (CMS). The addition of the CMS means that timely and cost effective updates to the website are managed by relevant personnel within the firm, thus minimising the involvement of Areeba for minor changes and updates.
