Parks Victoria Intranet 2006

Following on from the successful development of the Parks Victoria Intranet in 1999-2000, Areeba were asked to revisit the intranet to modernise it and integrate best practices in portal technology and content management.
The scope of services included:
- Development of a portal using Microsoft SharePoint Services which is the free version of Microsoft's Portal Server product
- An attractive and functional series of themed designs that could be applied by an administrator
- Content Management Services using RedDot CMS including workflow, template management and asset management services.
- Search services
- Collaboration tools including forums, surveys, polls, image galleries, alerts, subscriptions, calendar, trading post, email services
- Information tools including customised weather service
- Online forms. e.g. leave request, notice of bank details
- Integration of applications such as Corporate Directory and various Asset and Financial Management System developed by Areeba over the past 5 years.
- Development of a management reporting system for project management
- Creation of personalised pages, offering information tailored to the specific users
Areeba's familiarity with the business practices as well as the existing systems in place allowed Parks to receive a strong strategic direction in how to manage what was now an enormous information portal servicing all the Parks Victoria staff across the state.
