Port of Melbourne Corporation
The Port of Melbourne is Australia’s largest container and general cargo port, handling 39% of the nation’s container trade. The port is managed and operated by the Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) which was created out of a merger between the Melbourne Port Corporation and the Victorian Channel Authority in July 2003.
As part of the merger a new logo was created and a website and intranet system was required to implement the new corporate identity, provide a central point of focus for the new port and allow staff of the merged identity to work together.
To support the identity Areeba interpreted the logo into an attractive and functional website as well as implemented the new identity into a screensaver.
Areeba implemented a cost effective content management system to publish to both the internet and intranet including archive, content expiry notification and custom Meta data. The intranet also included integrating an existing staff directory.
Areeba created an online design and style guide around the new logo and provided consulting and advice for the ongoing management of the website.
The resulting website was well received and remains an effective communication and management tool for the PoMC today.
