The Port of Melbourne Corporation needed its own channel; online.
History
The Port of Melbourne Corporation (PoMC) was formed from the 2003 merger between the Melbourne Port Corporation and the Victorian Channel Authority to manage Australia's largest container and general cargo port. Areeba has been working with the PoMC since then to establish, support and help grow the internet and intranet of the organisation.
Challenge
Handling 39% of the nations container trade, the PoMC required a dynamic internet solution to support communications to a diverse range of stakeholders. To compliment this, an intranet solution was required to centralise communications between staff.
Areeba worked with the newly formed PoMC to achieve business objectives of usability and accessibility in a high quality presentation.
Solution
Areeba worked with the business needs of the organisation and identity of the newly formed brand to establish an attractive but functional online presence to cater for the growing needs of all stakeholders.
Complimenting the public-facing site, Areeba developed the PoMC intranet to service the communications and information needs of staff.
As a backbone to both presences, a cost effective content management system was implemented to publish content to the internet and intranet. The CMS includes archive, content expiry notification and custom Meta data features. Importantly, it also meant only one system for training and management of all online content.
