Areeba worked with SEEK in 2000 to design one of the most successful online job placement services in the country.

History

SEEK is Australia's most successful online job placement site and has proven that start-ups can still come out and top the established players. SEEK is now part of Australia's corporate landscape and a major Internet player in Australia. With concepts of usability and the user experience at the fore, Areeba worked with SEEK in 2000 to redesign their user interface; a redevelopment which stayed in place until their stock-market listing in 2005.

Challenge

Having experienced strong growth, SEEK sought Areeba's expertise to help establish clearer channels for their various market segments, improve the personalisation of job services and improve the site's usability.

Solution

Based on an understanding and analysis of user needs, working with SEEK, Areeba undertook a strategic redevelopment of the information architecture, key user interactions and interface design. In the immediate term, the redevelopment stimulated a growth in traffic and job-posts. In the longer term, the successful implementation of SEEK Campus, SEEK Executive and SEEK Volunteer paved the way for future expansion into other market segments.
