Sunskool is an initiative in offering educational value to Australian schools participating in the Australian Federal Governments National Solar in Schools Program.

History

Storm Sustainability provides solutions for managing water, using solar energy and monitoring outcomes to deliver sustainable benefits to the community. With a spread of clients from residential consumers across to government and corporate, Storm's strategic vision to ensure a pro-active environment of cultural change is leading the way globally.

Areeba have been involved heavily with Storm, offering branding, campaign management and strategic direction for their online presence.

Challenge

First cab off the rank is Sunskool, which is Storm's initiative in offering educational value to schools across Australia participating in the Australian Federal Governments National Solar in Schools Program.

Participating schools can install federally funded solar panels (photo voltaic) at their school and monitor the outputs whilst comparing the data to other schools around the country. The technology employed is cutting edge, with Areeba collaborating with Storm's technology partner Fat Spaniel Technologies in San Francisco, California for the live feeds from their data warehouse. Interest surrounding the project internationally has been enormous, with portals of Sunskool scheduled to be deployed in France, Germany & the United States for 2009

Solution

Areeba created the Sunskool branding, for both Online & Offline use, conceptualised the site visual look and feel, information architecture, development in ASP.NET 3.5/SQL 2005 and interfaced against the web services from Fat Spaniel.
