VITS Language Link CD

VITS Language Link is a wholly owned subsidiary of the State of Victoria, which is responsible for the supply of language interpretation services for Government and Corporate entities. With more than 120 languages catered for, VITS is a highly regarded institution which is an asset to all Victorians.

The brief from VITS was to create a promotional tool which would illustrate the different situations that an interpreter’s services could prove both beneficial and in certain cases crucial in everyday situations. Using Flash as the underlying technology, professional voiceovers tied to video footage and interactive flash forms, the CD acts as a guide going through each of the services, using visual cues to highlight different areas.

VITS also requested that humour play a part in the presentation as well as the ability to control progress through the CD via a simple and intuitive navigation system. Previously visited areas could be skipped by with users being able to fast forward to where they last left off the presentation.

To add humour, Areeba engaged the services of a professional illustrator to create the feature character of "The Professor" who would appear at key points in the presentation offering sage advice or guidance about particular tasks.

Developed to the highest levels of technical excellence and User Interface Design, the end product was launched by the The Honourable John Pandazopoulos, Minister for Racing & Gaming, Minister for Tourism & Minister Assisting the Premier for Multicultural Affairs on November 28^th, 2005 at the VITS Language Link 20th Birthday Celebration.
